Let us celebrate and honor the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., whom we commemorate on this day.

He was a gifted preacher, a dynamic speaker, and a champion of civil rights.   His call for peace unified the American public in a common cause to treat one another with respect and dignity, a message that tragically cost him his life, but one which we should continue to uphold in our nation today.
