Show Thyself Approved

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15 (KJV)

I always thought this verse was just about taking time to read the Bible and study the Word, but it's about much more than that. I believe that God is telling us to have a teachable spirit and to boldly seek Him, so that when we do read the Bible or pray, He will reveal His living truth to us, and like a fine blade, we can rightly divide it.

So, let us take every opportunity God provides us to study His truth, whether through His Word, a Sunday sermon, a Christian speaker, or just another believer. Let us study to show ourselves approved.
